JBL’s On Air Wireless AirPlay speaker dock gets official, unavailable to purchase

When we first peeked this AirPlay-enabled speaker dock, we were admittedly excited to see how things would turn out after it made rounds through the FCC. JBL just tossed up the splash page for the On Air Wireless speaker and we’ve gotta say — it looks to be a promising means of streaming your jams. The system connects wirelessly to your AirPlay-enabled Mac and iOS device on 4.2 or later and packs a screen that’ll display the track info of the song you’re rocking out to. What’s more, the rounded grill sports a dual alarm clock, FM radio, and a USB port for future firmware updates. As you might have surmised by now, the dock is not yet available for purchase and there’s no word on price. If you’re interested, though, be sure to hit the source link, sign up for more info and get ready to headbang this spring.

PowerAMP updated — gets new features and a $4.99 price tag

PowerAMP - $4.99

PowerAMP, a feature-rich music player for Android that we detailed a couple weeks ago, has finally graduated to a full version complete with a $4.99 price tag.  Some of you will say that $4.99 is a bit steep for a music player, but the five-star ratings and positive market comments are piling up.  "This is the best audio player I’ve ever tested.  I would have paid 2x what they’re asking!" writes one satisfied buyer.  With awesome features such as the heavily lauded equalizer, album art grabber, and lock screen controls, MaxMP’s PowerAMP aims to be one of the top music players available on Android.

Recent changes include:

  • All Artist Songs via header in Artists->Albums list
  • Shuffle by Artist/Album/Genre selection for SHUFFLE button
  • Option to enable "return to player" button in Folders/Library
  • Option to hide Equalizer Deck in portrait mode
  • Other fixes and improvements

To purchase the full version of PowerAMP, you’ll first have to install the trial version of PowerAMP, and then purchase the full version unlocker.  A simple market search for "Poweramp" will yield the exact downloads you need.

Album art live wallpaper shows how bad your musical taste is

Album art live wallpaper

Once again the developers at AndroidGamer have an awesome new Live Wallpaper to share with us.  You might remember their last jewel, Advanced Map Live Wallpaper, from when we had a look at it last month.  Well, Album Art live wallpaper is just as original!  The application scans your music, and pulls out the album art to create a collage of sorts as your wallpaper.  It’s chock full of settings, and according to the developers the features include:

  • Variable cover size
  • Shuffle
  • Automatic refresh
  • Battery friendly
  • Smooth scrolling
  • LauncherPro support

We’ve been using it for a bit now and are having a tad of trouble getting it to recognize our collection of Hungarian folk tunes, so your mileage may vary.

You can get Album Art live wallpaper  on the Android Market for 99 cents, or there’s a demo version for free! (Live wallpapers only work with Android 2.1 and higher!)

Like ton’s of other apps, this one comes from the minds and hearts of the guys over at Xda-Developers, and you can check out the official support thread HERE.  Links and more pics after the break.  Thanks David!
