LG Aloha will be the Ally on Verizon

Verizon LG Ally (or Aloha)

Oh, you wanted to know about the LG Aloha, did you ? Sorry, alls we have here is the LG Ally — which is what we’re told the Aloha actually will be called — and it’s said to be destined for Verizon in the middle of May. Specs should still be about what we’ve been told for the Aloha (aka the LU2300), with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen at 480×800 pixels, QWERTY keyboard, Android 2.1, 720p video out, 5MP camera and the kinda-weird round D-pad. More or less par for the course these days. More on the Ally as we get it.

LG launching three Android phones, but none for the U.S.

LG is slated to release three new Android phones in the near future but sadly, none of them are currently coming to the US. The first two, the LU2300 and the SU950/KU9500, are very interesting. The LU2300 (pictured above) is the device we once guessed was the awesome Aloha in the US. It packs the increasingly common 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a physical QWERTY-keyboard, 3.5-inch AMOLED 800×480 screen, and a 5-megapixel camera. The SU2300 is said to share the same internals sans the physical keyboard. Those are top notch specs and we can’t help but be jealous of South Korean Android users who will receive both devices in June (we’re also jealous of their commercials!).

The UK is also getting some love in the form of the LG Optimus, formerly known as the LG GT540. We saw this device back in CES and felt it was a good mid-range device. Specs are unclear but don’t expect much, the LG Optimus is available starting May 1st in the UK.

Verizon internals show VS740, looks like the LG Aloha Android phone

LG VS740

Everybody and their mother’s raiding Verizon’s pantry of late, this time with the LG VS740 making an appearance. Phone Arena says (and we agree) that this looks to be the LG Aloha — aka the LG C710 — and that it should sport a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera and 720p video playback (which is quickly appearing on more and more new phones these days). It’s now rumored to launch in the second quarter, which is … anytime now. [Phone Arena]

Could this be the LG Aloha ?

We just reported on the LG Aloha and now we have some speculative pictures that point this South Korean LG LU2300 Android device (pictured above) as the actual Aloha. Remember, the Aloha is purported to be the next great Android device with one new wrinkle: it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

A QWERTY keyboard is found on the LU2300 along with a 800×480 screen and Android 2.1, both which are expected to be on the Aloha. The other ‘new’ specs of the LU2300–Snapdragon, AMOLED 3.5-inch screen, and optical trackpad–seem to fit in with the Aloha’s "high end" nature, so if you connect the dots and take a leap of faith the LU2300 just might be the LG Aloha. We definitely wouldn’t be mad if it was. What do you guys think? [via androidcommunity]

LG C710 Aloha is the next great Android phone

Honestly, Android has grown so large that we’re a little past the point of purely speculating what the next great Android phone will be. There’s so many awesome Android devices currently available, on the horizon, or in the future that it’s almost silly to report on an Android phone that has no leaked pictures or confirmed specs. But this one’s special: the LG C710 Aloha is purported to be as good as the best Android phones now with one twist: it has a full QWERTY keyboard.

The LG C710 is said to rock a 800×480 screen (same as the EVO) and pack your typical connectivity options but adds 802.11n. LG has previously built low-end Android devices but if this Aloha device is real, well, welcome to the big boys club LG. Combining that screen with wireless-n and a full QWERTY keyboard? Even if it’s ugly, that’s still an awesome phone. We can’t wait to say hello. [tweakers]
