Samsung, AT&T halt Gingerbread update for Infuse 4G

There was a Gingerbread update available via Samsung Kies for the Infuse 4G, but it is no more after a few issues surfaced in the build of Android 2.3.6. It’s quite possible that Samsung knew the update wasn’t fully baked all along, as AT&T announced the software before the manufacturer of the Infuse 4G had time to even get the proper files on their servers. The two companies eventually got on the same page and users were able to sideload the update to their devices, but a new post at Samsung’s support forums says the OS upgrade has been put on hold.

Motorola Atrix 4G Receiving Over-The-Air Update Starting Today

Our friends at BriefMobile reported a few days ago that the Atrix 4G would soon be receiving it’s Android 2.3.x update, bringing the software up to version 4.5.141. Well, that special day for Atrix users is February 7th which just so happens to be tomorrow (today).

Huawei Honor passes through FCC again, this time with AT&T bands

We know Huawei has its bad reputation, but they have been improving their game lately. The Huawei Honor is one of their latest devices, and it has just passed through the FCC with AT&T bands. This device is currently available for Cricket (CDMA), but we have not seen another version of it hit the US.

So far, Google Wallet has its official US availability on NFC-compatible handsets limited by unfriendly carriers with their own mobile payment services in mind , but it appears that is no longer the case for Nexus handsets with AT&T SIMs inserted. Droid-Life reported the app is available in the market for AT&T-SIM’d HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus phones, which we were able to confirm on our own device (over any connection, as long as the AT&T card is in, switching back to a T-Mobile SIM made it disappear from the market again, although of course the app still worked).

AT&T’s Galaxy Note Gets Source Code Released

The Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T won’t be here until February 19th (presales begin on the fifth of this month) but its source code is already available for developers to download. This will allow folks to get started on creating ROMs well before its launch but don’t expect to see a lot of that happening before the device is in developers’ hands.
