HTC Evo 4G Case Review: Otterbox Defender
You have a big, two-year investment in your HTC Evo 4G, and it makes perfect sense to protect it while you carry it day-to-day. While some can get by with less protection, say from a silicon case or skin, others need serious armor for their phone. Enter the Otterbox Defender series case for the HTC Evo 4G.
The Defender series case comes in three sections — a tough polycarbonate shell (including a protective clear membrane for the screen), a thick silicon outer skin, and a face-in holster. With everything assembled, the Evo 4G is ready for a duty belt, on an ALICE pack I.E.B., or a tool-belt. It’s also perfect for people who work in less stressful situations, but are a bit tough on their equipment.
Even the screen is protected, and the touchscreen works better than expected under the clear shell. The outer silicon layer wraps around all edges, and has well sealed rubber flaps over all ports and controls. The only part of your Evo that isn’t completely covered is the earpiece and the microphone, which has it’s own deep tapered opening. The trade-off of course is added thickness. The Defender does add a good bit of bulk to an already large phone, but nothing unnecessary, and it’s very tasteful in design. If you need this level of protection for your expensive Evo 4G, you will understand and appreciate the way it is done here. And of course, the Defender series case offers its own kickstand since it covers the original.
There are more pictures after the break, and the Otterbox Defender series case is available in the Android Central store for $47.95.

MyTouch 4G case review: BodyGlove snap-on case
The Body Glove Snap-on Case for the HTC myTouch 4G follows in the tradition of the other Body Glove snap-on cases. You’ve got a two-part hard case covered in a textured rubber. The two parts snap together, thus the name.
There are cutouts for the camera, camera button, volume rocker, power button and 3.5mm headphone jack, plus the microUSB port.
Putting the case on your phone is simple. You lay the phone in the larger, back half of the case, then snap on the front ring. It might take a little bit of tweaking, but once it’s on, it’s on. The inside of the case is lined in a soft felt as to not scratch the plastic.
The case comes with a rotatable belt-clip preinstalled, but you can swap it out with a little insert, giving the case a flat back. Fun fact: the belt clip folds out and turns the case into a handy tripod.
More pics are after the break. The Body Glove Snap-on Case for the myTouch 4G is available in the Android Central Store for $24.95.

Droid X case review: Seidio Spring-Clip Holster
Carrying around the Motorola Droid X in a holster is no small matter. Literally. The phone has a 4.3-inch screen. But the Seidio Spring-Clip Holster makes short work of it.
The holster itself is really simple. You slide the phone face-first into the holster from the bottom, then affix the clip at the top. The holster itself is made of a soft-touch plastic, and the inside is covered in felt to protect the screen. The holster actually doesn’t add much bulk to the phone. You’ll certainly know you’re carrying it around, but it’s not overly bulky.
Releasing the phone is as simple as lifting up on the spring clip. The clip doesn’t lock into place, so you’ll want to be a tad bit careful about accidentally knocking it against something. But at the same time, we’re not worried about the spring giving way during normal everyday use.
There’s a belt clip on the back of the holster. Its spring is pretty tight, too, so no worries about it falling off your hip. The belt clip can be rotated, too, for a custom fit. It’s not removable (hey, it’s a holster), but neither does it stick too far off your body.
We’ve got more pics after the break. The Seidio Spring-Clip Holster for the Motorola Droid X is available in the Android Central Store for $24.95.

Droid Incredible Case Review: Seidio Innocase Rugged holster combo
The Seidio Innocase Rugged holster combo is a case for the Droid Incredible that would be more accurately described as a tank than as a case. The case itself has three separate layers: the Seidio Innocase II case goes around your phone first and is then itself encapsulated inside a thick rubber lining and a rigid plastic skeleton shell. This by itself would be a case worthy of respect, but Seidio has gone even farther by including a set of screen protectors and a holster to keep the entire thing strapped to your belt or waist.
The great thing about this case is that it can really be used as three separate cases. The Seidio Innocase II is a great thin case in its own right, and there is nothing preventing you from simply using it as your daily in-pocket case to keep the phone from getting scratches. Adding the rubber and stiff plastic layers creates a much more durable case, which would offer much better protection from drops. Using the holster makes sure your phone is within easy access on your hip and would be great for someone who needs quick and constant access to their phone. The screen in turned inward when held in the holster by a slide-locking clip, so you have no worries about your phone falling off the holster. Considering the versatility, this is a great buy for someone who may want a super rugged and durable case but is not sure they would want to carry their phone in it at all times.
Our very own Jerry Hildenbrand reviewed this very case for the Evo 4G and shot a great video showing you how to assemble this monster step-by-step. Check out his review for the video and check out more pictures of the Droid Incredible version past the break. The Seidio Innocase Rugged holster combo for the Verizon Droid Incredible will run you $49.99 in the Android Central Store.

Review: Mobi Products skin case for the Samsung Fascinate and Mesmerize
The Mobi Products skin case is a single-piece, wraparound case for the Samsung Fascinate and Mesmerize. The case material is a flexible rubber with a grippy matte surface. The phone easily slides in and out, which is a benefit for those who swap batteries frequently. On the other hand, the top parameter might be a little too flexible and loose for others.
I’m somewhere in the middle. I fall into the category of those who do not typically use a case. However, I found myself using it more often than not, because of the ability to pop it on and off with ease. Perfectly aligned cutouts provide sufficient access to the buttons, speaker, camera, microphone, headset jack, and micro SD slot. The material was fingerprint-free after extended use and was easy to clean with a drop of dish soap and water. The volume rocker and power buttons are easy to push. If you’re a person, who on average, prefers the feel of a naked phone but wants some level of protection while your phone is in a coat pocket or lying on a table, this could be the perfect case for your needs. Grab the Mobi Products skin case in one of four different colors from the Android Central store for $9.95. Hit the break for some more pictures.

Case review: HellBent horizontal pouch (Mike Lavallee edition)
When it comes to cases for your Android smartphone, there’s style, and then there’s style. What you see before you here is the Mike Lavallee edition of the HellBent Horizontal Pouch Case. Lavallee, of course, is the name behind Killer Paint Inc., and you’ve seen his work on such shows as TLC’s "Overhaulin’," "Miami Ink," and "Rides," as well as Discovery’s "Monster Garage." And now you can have his work protect your phone.
The patented process used to transfer the artwork to the case is done without changing the look or feel of the leather, and it’s highly resistant to household chemicals, perfumes and cosmetics. Because the artwork impregnates the leather, it can’t fade or separate from the case.
As for the case itself, it’s your basic horizontal pouch with belt clip on the rear. The phone slips inside — face in or out, it’s up to you — and the flap is held in place with a magnet. One down side is that depending on where the 3.5mm headphone jack is on your phone, you might not have access to it while the phone’s in the case. But otherwise, the phone sits securely inside.
The Mike Lavalee edition of the HellBent Horizontal case fits a number of Android smartphones. (Be sure to use the device selector to make sure yours fits.) It’s available now in the Android Central Store for $49.95. We’ve got more pictures after the break.

T-Mobile Vibrant accessory review: Body Glove Flex/Chrome case
If you want a case with some serious protection but without the oversized rugged look, check out the Body Glove Flex/Chrome case for the T-Mobile Vibrant. The three-piece case features a rubberized back cover, chrome front bezel and a removable belt clip.
You start by putting the phone in the back cover, and then snapping on the front bezel. It’s a pretty sung fit, and you won’t have to worry about it coming undone. The back cover is clad in a textured rubber, giving it great grip in the hand, or on a table or car dashboard. There are cutouts for all of the buttons, ports and microphone. And the case is thick enough so that the camera lens is well-protected if the phone is left face up.
The belt clip fits snugly and secures with a snap mechanism. You release it with a spring-loaded button on the bottom of the clip. If you want, you can remove the belt clip nub from the back cover of the case and replace it with a flat insert. That lets it ride much more comfortably in your pocket.
We’ve got loads more pictures after the break. The Body Glove Flex/Chrome case for the T-Mobile Vibrant is available in the Android Central Store for $24.95.

Android Case Review: Aquapac weather-resistant case
I love smartphones. And I love water. And, obviously, those two things don’t exactly go hand-in-hand. But enter the Aquapac water-resistant case, and I’m no longer afraid to take my phones to the beach, on a boat — or down a 17-foot water slide.
