A quick visit to the Android developer support page reveals some startling news. It appears as if Google is dropping the “developer device” tag of once-listed CDMA models.

UPDATE: The Android Team’s Dan Morrill has posted an explanation for the removal of the Galaxy Nexus and other CDMA devices from the official developer support page. This has nothing to do with Google Wallet (we never thought it did) and everything to do with the way the Android code is compiled for CDMA devices.

AT&T’s Galaxy Note Gets Source Code Released
The Samsung Galaxy Note for AT&T won’t be here until February 19th (presales begin on the fifth of this month) but its source code is already available for developers to download. This will allow folks to get started on creating ROMs well before its launch but don’t expect to see a lot of that happening before the device is in developers’ hands. Android Developers ready to hangout on Google+
The mobile ninjas over at Android Developers have announced a new medium for advice, collaboration and training : Google+ . The collective will use the social networking site to help developers “meet, share, and connect with the people behind the Android developer experience.” Programming tips, SDK announcements and training offerings are all on the menu, and the group is promising to hold weekly “broadcast office hours” for live Q&A using the Hangouts feature built-in to Google+. For those looking to get social about development, the Android dev team has just launched their official Google+ page. The new resource is meant as hub for developers to meet and chat with members of the Android team, discuss aspects of coding for Android with other members of the community, and otherwise expand their knowledge of working with Google’s mobile platform. There will even be opportunities to join a Hangout with the various people working behind the scenes.
