Entourage shuts down Edge content store, devices reportedly discontinued
It seems natural selection has finally caught up with the Entourage Edge. When we first reviewed the combination touchscreen/E Ink “dualbook,” we wondered whether its neither-fish-nor-fowl design would catch on — especially priced at $500. That price dropped substantially with its successor, the Pocket Edge, but neither device truly found its feet, in part because of a lack of applications and no updates beyond Android 1.6. And now comes word that the Edge store has officially closed, with customers having until May 27 to download any purchased content. It all points to RIP for the Edge family, and Good E-Reader claims to have recent confirmation from the company. In its goodbye message Entourage steers users toward the Amazon app store, where it notes “you will now have access to a lot of Android Apps that Google would never give us access to.” Obvious bitterness aside, the team reportedly has a new device in the works, this time in the typical slate model.
[Thanks, Roy]

First Ari, now ‘Entourage’s’ Johnny Drama spotted using a Nexus One!
![]()
The season premier of Entourage showed us the lovable Ari Gold using a Nexus One. It turns out that he’s not the only one of the group who has decided to use Google’s (soon-to-be-retired) phone. Johnny Drama was spotted using the device in the third episode this past weekend.
The screenshot above is from the episode and a Nexus One can clearly be seen. It’s exciting to see high-end Android devices making their way onto TV shows and movies. I’m sure its only a matter of time before we see Droid Xs and Evos on the silver screen.
Keep your eye out for more Androids on TV and if you see one, let us know! (Thanks, GonzoGuy24!)

Let’s hug it out: ‘Entourage’s’ Ari Gold using Android’s Nexus One
If you caught Sunday’s season premiere of HBO’s hit-show "Entourage," you might have noticed uber-agent Ari Gold sporting the Nexus One. Balancing form and function, the phone meets every expectation and serves every purpose necessary for someone of Ari’s profession. The Nexus One preforms a wide variety of tasks from managing Ari’s immense social network to keeping in touch with his clients, made all the more easy with the beautiful 3.7-inch AMOLED screen. Should he feel the need to snap a picture with Vince, the Nexus One offers a 5-megapixel camera and now features high-definition recording in 720p. All in all, the Nexus One is truly "something Ari Gold might be interested in." [via @kmobs]

Entourage Edge E-reader gets reviewed
If you’re interested in unique, Android-powered e-readers, the Entourage Edge is a great place to start. It’s a dualbook meaning it has an e-ink screen on one side and a LCD on the other. We briefly saw the Entourage Edge at CES but as it was in non-working order, we couldn’t really get a feel for the dual-screen device. Luckily, Laptop Magazine has reviewed the Edge and comes away decently impressed (but not without reservation). Here are the highlights:
- It’s heavy and when open, can get hot
- You can fold the screens back to back
- You can highlight and mark notes on the e-ink screen with included stylus
- Page turns are slow
- Runs Android 1.6 but has no access to Android Market
It seems like the Entourage Edge is a solid start, it’ll soon get better if updates that’ll add Android 2.0, Flash lite, webcam functionality, an app store, and bluetooth connectivity are delivered as promised. We’re excited to see if the Edge can succeed. What do you guys think? Hit the link for the full review
