Xbox co-creator brings together Atari ‘dream team’ for mobile gaming startup

A new mobile gaming startup that’s yet to release a single game isn’t the sort of thing we’d normally cover ’round here, but the story behind Los Angeles-based Innovative Leisure is anything but ordinary. The man behind the company is the co-creator of the Xbox, Seamus Blackley, and he’s brought with him eleven industry veterans that he calls “the dream team from Atari,” including the likes of Van Burnham, Ed Logg, Rich Adam, Tim Skelly, Owen Rubin, and Ed Rotberg. While those names may not be familiar to everyone, you’ll surely recognize some of the games they were responsible for: Asteroids , Centipede , Gauntlet , Missile Command , Battlezone , S.T.U.N

First Three Phoenix Wright Games Coming to Android

Objection! One of my favorite game series on the Nintendo DS is coming to Android. Along with an announcement of Ace Attorney 5 for the handheld, Capcom have announced that the first three Phoenix Wright games will all be coming to Android. They’ll be the same games we’ve had on the DS except they’ll have slightly better graphics.

Rovio Says They Could Do More Visually With Angry Birds

It’s no secret that Angry Birds’ formula and style is a bit dated. While the bird-slinging game will always have a place in our hearts you can only take so much of it and Rovio can only do so much with it. Speaking to PocketGamer , NVIDIA’s Neil Trevett says Rovio believes they could do more with the game in terms of style and graphics

Netflix Q4 results: 220k new streaming-only customers, beats earnings estimates (Update: no game rentals coming)

Netflix’s Q4 2011 earnings report is in, and the company indicates its streaming subscriber count is now 21.67 million. DVD subscribers were still down however, although not as much as expected with cancellations peaking in September when the services split , leaving it with a total number of 24.4 million customers. This closes out a tough 2011 that saw its subscriber count drop by 800k in Q3 , and most recently resulted in the search for a new Chief Marketing Officer
