Looks like HP will be getting some company in Google’s print cloud. Kodak today announced a new line of Cloud Print-friendly all-in-one devices, which let users print documents without all of those pesky cords. The imaging company is rolling the Hero 3.1, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 and 9.1. The low-end 3.1 features a 2.4-inch display and does printing, scanning, and copying for $99, while the top of the line 9.1 adds faxing, a 4.3-inch display, a 30 page automatic document feeder, automatic two-sided printing and Smart Sensor technology to the mix at $249. The $199 6.1, meanwhile, is the most business-minded of the bunch, with its home office networking capabilities. All of the models will be available this month. Printable press info after the break.

It looks like Tess Mercer’s got more than one hero in her life, but only one of them is running Windows Phone 7. In this week’s episode of Smallville, Lois Lane places a call to Tess Mercer, who appears to be packing a white HTC Hero. Oddly enough, though, it’s not rocking Eclair. That’s right, this Hero’s a Microsoft man — which has us wondering: what OS is Superman running?

[Thanks, Rich]

HTC has been on quite a roll this past year, and UK-based T3 (a technology and gadgets magazine) has rewarded the company with their prestigious "Technology Brand of the Year" award. Editor Luke Peters cited "solid handset performance" alongside a "determined yet humble brand personality" as leading reasons for the award, which doesn’t come as a surprise as the company has nabbed smartphone of the year awards the past two years (HTC Hero last year, HTC Desire this year). Last year’s brand was none other than Google’s Android OS, so HTC is certainly in good company. "Quietly Brilliant", indeed.

Astounding, actually. Android has the top two rated phones for three out of the four carriers. The only one it didn’t have No. 2 on was AT&T — and that went to the iPhone 3G, not even the iPhone 4G. In fact, there’s a sidebar in which CR writes that it still doesn’t recommend the iPhone 4 because of that whole reception thing (though it is actually rated higher than the Captivate, even if it isn’t recommended). Be sure the entire breakdown.
The Fall season brings new colors of leaves, the return of children to school, pumpkin pie (om nom nom), and new TV shows. If you’ve had your boob tube set to CBS in the past few weeks, you’ve probably seen "Hawaii Five-0" advertised a billion times. What you might of not noticed was the HTC Hero that appeared on the television series first episode. In its brief few minutes of fame, and its short lived life, the Hero was used and then tossed out the window of a moving car. More screens after the break. Thanks, Android Amateur!

If you own an HTC Hero and you’re tired of your GPS and dialer acting up, it’s time to update your phone — now. Software version 2.31.651.7 is hitting the phones as we speak, well, as we type. We got wind of this update coming through a few days ago. Oh, and remember — this is not Froyo! Sprint already confirmed via Twitter, that the Hero will not be getting Froyo. Make sure your hitting that system update button in your settings if your still waiting on the software fix. Also, be sure to head on over to the Android Central Forums talk all about it. People are already receiving the update. One more pic after the break. Thanks, Zachary.

Looks like the rumors are true, folks — the Evo 4G update that’s coming down the pike may well be fixing the 30FPS graphics issue that’s been plaguing us all from the start. We were slipped the above e-mail (and it looks like Engadget got one, too) that shows the rumored 3FPS and GPS reboot fixes (that strangely are missing from Sprint’s update list).

But wait, there’s more. The leaked e-mail also shows an update to the HTC Hero. No, it’s not Froyo (and it won’t be), but you are getting fixes for GPS reboot and sluggish dialer issues. So you got that going for you, which is nice.

Sing out in the comments if you’ve gotten either of the updates yet.

Update: Unrevoked’s got video of the fix in action, apparently. Check it out after the break.
