Samsung outs pink Galaxy S II and limited edition Galaxy Tab 10.1, plays up battle of the sexes
While some manufacturers play coy with their gender marketing plans (*cough* the Rhyme *cough*), others make no pretense about pandering straight to the sexes. Cue Samsung with two distinct South Korea-only Android offerings for both guys and dolls — a Galaxy S II painted in pink and a Lions special edition Galaxy Tab 10.1 for baseball fans. Sammy’s issuing a limited production run of the popular Honeycomb slate to commemorate its team’s Korea Series Championship win, and will pack an autographed ball and jersey in the box. As for that GS II in pinkalicious clothing, well, that’s all you ladies are getting — same beefy specs, same beefy screen and absolutely no charm dongle. These changes may be only skin-deep, but for the swag and style-obsessed alike, it’s still nice kit if you can get it.

Nintendo launching ‘Misty Pink’ 3DS handheld on October 20th
You heard right — The Big N’s own Satoru Iwata just announced that a “Misty Pink” Nintendo 3DS console would be shipping (at least in Japan) on October 20th. Funnily enough, that was just after showing a chart proving that right around half of all DS gamers are ladies. (But Iwata — what if the dudes dig pink, too?) At any rate, no specific price was mentioned, giving us some level of certainty that no premium will be attached.

Nokia announces pink N8 with Symbian Anna, neglects to give us a release date
It must be hard for Nokia to keep consumer interest in Symbian going while simultaneously developing a whole new ecosystem, so we’ll forgive the unimaginative move to just do a pink version of the N8. That handset already benefited from the widest set of color options among any smartphone flagships, and will soon be adding a very T-Mobile-friendly shade of light red to its anodized aluminum case. Judging by those curvy icons on its 3.5-inch AMOLED screen, the pink N8 will also feature the latest version of Symbian, dubbed Anna, though Nokia unfortunately fails to tell us when we may expect this mildly refreshed phone to arrive. Then again, we suspect it’ll be pretty hard to miss whenever it does show up.

Samsung goes pink with their Galaxy S in South Korea
![]()
Samsung has not only rolled out a device line that can be purchased on nearly any and all carriers, but now they appear to be offering this device in color choices in some markets. South Korean’s will soon be given the option to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S (M110S) in a pink flavor, as well as the original. While unfortunately at this time it does not appear as though this color will be making its way to to the states, we can always hope for some color choices to find their way to us. [via SamsungHub]

X-10 Mini, Mini Pro now in color — outside looks better than inside
Sony Ericsson has announced earlier this month that the X10 Mini, and the X10 Mini Pro will soon be available in new colors. The Mini, (right) will be available with a gold shell, while the Mini Pro (left) will feature a pink sliding case. I’ll tell anyone within earshot that I’m not 100 percent sure I like the trend to giant phones, and these sure do look nice. Too bad they only updated the case colors — both the Mini and Mini Pro still run Android 1.6.
For what it’s worth, the new colors should be available next month, and an update to Android 2.1 sometime before hell freezes over in Q4 of this year. SE — we love your phones. They feel great, and have excellent call quality. Please realize that we Android fans need the OS updates more than we need food, and make phones that look this hot run a current version of the software! [SEMC blog]

Verizon’s doing something on Monday … Incredible? Or just Pink? (or football?)
So Verizon has some "journey" that it’s beginning on Monday. While we’re all waiting on the HTC Incredible to be announced any day now, we’re not quite sure it fits the "it’s new, it’s unique" line that Big Red’s touting here. Instead, it’s quite possible that it’s referring to the fabled Microsoft "Project Pink" that’s also rumored to be announced then, and that certainly would match up the "let’s get social" line. (FWIW: Engadget’s thinking the same thing.)
Hey, we definitely want to see the Incredible announced and released, like, yesterday. But we’re not going to put all our eggs in that basket just yet. [via BerryScoop]
Update: @slundberg01 offers another theory: "The journey on Monday for Verizon is NFL mobile. It releases Monday. There will be new phones but that’s not Monday. that’s why if you look at that flyer it was a football thrown through the paper."
