Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface available for pre-order in 23 countries, expected to ship in 2012
Microsoft’s Surface hasn’t exactly exploded on the sales figure front, but with next-gen model pricing estimated at $7,600 $8,400 and limited availability, we’re not surprised that the table of the future hasn’t begun popping up in hotels and retails stores the world over. That may slowly change, however, with one of the most recent models — Samsung’s SUR40 — finally coming up for pre-order today. Enterprise customers (or deep-pocketed individuals) can reach out to dedicated sales reps in any of 23 countries to place an order, including the U.S. and Canada, parts of Asia, and most of Europe. An exact ship date has yet to be released, but don’t expect the 40-inch 1080p multitouch table to start popping up until early next year. Want to start touching and tapping today? Check out our hands-on with an early SUR40 from CES.
Update: Microsoft wrote in to let us know that pricing has jumped a bit — to $8,400 — since this year’s earlier estimate. International pricing will vary by country.

Boxee Box Live TV dongle shipping for $49 in January 2012, pre-orders open today
No point in hiding in plain view, eh? Boxee has just affirmed that the leaked Live TV dongle is legit, and it’ll be splashing down on North American shores in January. The Boxee Box Live TV dongle will allow North American users to connect an antenna to their Box to watch channels like ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC in HD with no monthly fee — assuming you’re close enough to an OTA tower to receive said signals, of course. Once equipped, a Box will be able to fetch content from the major networks, Vudu, Netflix and Hulu, though you may want to spring for that bolstered internet connection.
Boxee Live TV works with signals from HDTV antennas (using ATSC) or an unencrypted cable connection (using ClearQAM), and a portable antenna is included. Users who live out in the ‘burbs may want to consider something a bit beefier, and if you’re hoping to use this thing with something other than the Boxee Box… well, keep dreaming. In fact, Boxee has confirmed that even the forthcoming update of its Boxee software for Mac and PC won’t support the device, so you’ll be forced to pony up for D-Link’s hardware if you’re looking to party. There’s also no DVR function in sight (sort of defeating the purpose, given just how many TVs have tuners already), but hey — who knows what’ll roll out at CES. Pre-orders are available down in the source link, with $49 claiming your spot in line.

Kindle Fire shipping a day early for those who pre-ordered
Officially, the Kindle Fire isn’t supposed to launch until tomorrow, November 15th. But, if you were one of the impatient many that jumped on the chance to pre-order the Amazon-branded tablet, the online retailer has a surprise — it’s already on its way. In a statement, Dave Limp (VP of Amazon Kindle), said the company was “thrilled to be able to ship Kindle Fire to our customers earlier than we expected.” We already knew that early sales of the device had exceeded expectations and production had to be ramped up to meet demand. Putting them in the mail 24 hours ahead of schedule is really just icing on the cake. Sure, it’s not the full week that Kindle Touch purchasers are enjoying, but when it comes to the latest gadgets, getting our mitts on it even just a few hours early is a pleasant surprise.
