Logitech’s Q3 2012 report confirms Revue is sold out, Harmony remote refresh ‘in the coming months’

Logitech’s Q3 earnings for the 2012 fiscal year don’t have many surprises since the company already revealed it was dropping out of the Google TV team . In prepared remarks, company management confirmed it is completely sold out of new units, closing the door on any users still trying to nab a $99 Revue (who shouldn’t be too heartbroken, since Vizio is promising a second gen unit is on the way at the same price).

Comcast Xfinity Skype webcam for cable boxes revealed by FCC (Update: Pics, pricing and details!)

About six months after we first heard Comcast would release a Skype webcam built for its cable boxes Wireless Goodness has uncovered the FCC filing for just such a unit. There’s no pictures of the device itself, but scans from the manual and the diagram above give a good idea of the experience available, including the ability to have video as an overlay on top of TV content, or as a picture-in-picture. Video and audio calls are both possible, as well as instant messaging, and while the Xfinity-branded camera itself clips onto your flat-panel, a small adapter hooks into the set-top box.

Tizi app turns your iPhone into a pricey iPad remote, enlists Siri for channel surfing

It’s time to show your iPad who’s boss — your iPhone, naturally. The Tizi Remote app is presently available for free via iTunes, letting you use your iPhone to change channels, record shows and pause live TV on iPads connected to the Tizi or Tizi Go TV receivers — and if you happen to have a 4S , you can harness the power of Siri to change channels for you. Sadly, neither of the aforementioned pieces of hardware are available stateside at the moment, so for now, you’ll just have to watch TV shows on your iPad the old fashioned way

Roku’s official iPhone remote app is available, has gesture control and channel selection for all

Directly on the heels of an update for its newest media streamers , Roku has released its official iPhone remote app. Apparently “inspired by user feedback”, it allows users to launch or rate channels, control the box with touches and swipes, and add or remove channels from their box directly from the app itself. Probably the best news about it is that it will work with all generations of Roku hardware, and can even pair to multiple boxes.
