Samsung, AT&T halt Gingerbread update for Infuse 4G

There was a Gingerbread update available via Samsung Kies for the Infuse 4G, but it is no more after a few issues surfaced in the build of Android 2.3.6. It’s quite possible that Samsung knew the update wasn’t fully baked all along, as AT&T announced the software before the manufacturer of the Infuse 4G had time to even get the proper files on their servers. The two companies eventually got on the same page and users were able to sideload the update to their devices, but a new post at Samsung’s support forums says the OS upgrade has been put on hold.

Samsung’s March 22nd Event in France Won’t Unveil Any New Devices

Yesterday, it was discovered that Samsung would be holding a mobile event in France on March 22nd. Speculation ran wild, of course, with some even suggesting that this could be the launch platform for the Samsung Galaxy S III, an unlikely but not impossible notion.

Samsung Galaxy Note Super Bowl Ad: Hot or Not?

A few weeks back, we told you guys about how Samsung was attempting to gain an “Apple like” following with their products and yesterday’s Super Bowl ad was the climax of that, giving us a magnificently showy conclusion to the “The Next Big Thing” ad campaign. The video showcased Apple fanboys/girls who — after taking a look at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note — finally had enough of their prison that was the iPhone X line, waiting around for the next best thing when it was already here. These brand new Samsung converts skipped and danced their way out of Apple’s line/jail and into the bright wonderful streets of Samsung’s smartphone lineup with, none other than The Darkness, providing vocals for what even “the barrista” called an over the top ad spot.

Korea’s Electronic Times News is adding to the speculation surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S III, citing unnamed sources in a report claiming the phone will measure in at just 7mm thick and launch in May. The new flagship device is said to house an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera, a Super AMOLED Plus display, and Android 4.0. Previous rumors have suggested the phone will launch with a quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 4G LTE.
