Twitter to begin ‘reactively’ censoring tweets in specific countries, still no love for China
It’s no secret that certain countries have different views over freedom of expression on the internet, but this hasn’t stopped Twitter’s attempt to keep its service running in as many places as possible. In its latest blog post, the microblogging service announced that it’ll begin “to reactively withhold content from users in a specific country” when required, in order to keep said content available to all users elsewhere (as opposed to blocking it globally)

Are you someone who has yet to jump on the Twitter bandwagon because it’s just too darn complicated to use? Well, the time to spread your tweeting wings has come, because the service has just done a redesign of its web portal and mobile apps around four new tabs — “Home”, “Connect”, “Discover” and “Me” — that make for a less complicated and more streamlined experience ( sound familiar ?). Twitter’s new threads will be rolling out universally over the next few weeks, though the Android and iPhone apps have already been refreshed.

The “What’s New” feed in Windows Phone Mango’s Picture Hub has done a great job offering thumbnail images for Facebook and Windows Live messages, but for some reason lovers of Twitter pictures have been shunned, with only a link to the image being provided. Not the worst thing on the planet, of course, but certainly it’s been a minor thorn in the side of frequent users of the social networking service.

If we had to imagine our dream DIY project chances are it would involve Arduino , Twitter and, of course, cats. How we’d combine those things we’re not sure, but we’ll admit to being big fans of Samuel Cox’s eSleeper, which turns a hollowed-out eMac into a bed for his feline. Inside the shell is an Arduino Ethernet connected to an IR sensor, some LEDs and a sound shield
